Main difference between ETH and BTC is ETH is used to build decentralized applications (dApps) on. For instane, decentralized finance (defi) products like maker, aave, compound, uniswap and many many more.
There's plenty of coins, in fact most coins are build on top of ETH using their ecosystem for transactions. In order to make transactions with various other coins (ERC-20 tokens as they're called) you need to own some ETH to pay the fee's (gas); https://ethgasstation.info/

Some interesting products that was born from ETH is the infamous 'stablecoins' that are 'pegged to the USD' 1:1 (i.e USDT, USDC, Dai and a few more). There's even a coin pegged to Gold; Tether Gold (XAUT)

Games, exchanges, marketplaces, digital art (like NFT's), gambling, social networks and pretty much anything can be 'tokenized' or built with Ethereum.

That feeling you get when you clear a 1k$ locked out swing trade as ETH hits it's new ATH (was locked out at 1470ish, tried to capitalize on a swing to 1500 that didnt materialize)

sold too early, pushing 1540s now. o well. just happy not to be locked up for the time being and will wait on the correction.

What you think it’ll correct to?

Optimistically given the rising lows, 1320 or so.

pessimistically given that a new out of pattern all time high has been set, 1250 or so in a hard correction before it rebounds and stats to reaccumulate for another ATH in a week or so after its done running today. similar to Jan 21st which is a low that stands below the rest in slide.

I just can’t imagine selling eth right now. Literally seems like the a top tier long term investment. Wish I bought more years ago at $100 lol
