best book - CCENT/CCNA 100-101.
after reading even half of the book and not doing a lab on CISCO-emulator, the book still gives a good base about Networks(ip,masks(mask calculated), TCP, UDP, DNS, LAN, WAN, Subnet and other)

Plural sight is offering 1 month free trial for april. They usually have good stuff to augment book learnings.
