I think one thing is -%target defense (eth rune for example) and another is -%defense (conviction)

Yes, i will test it this afternoon. I have a full conviction pala. If it works we should see a big difference.

best thing would be to test on a naked char with white items (just an armor should be enough) in order to avoid weird in-screen interaction with other properties.
