considering how bad is Cobra Kai im not so sure it's a great idea.
what would you say is the best way we've seen someone make a sequel to a classic? And by that I mean, taking a cherished IP and continuing it after a long gap. Did
The Force Awakens do it right?
As I've said in my earlier comments, Cobra Kai has some limitations. It comes off as low budget. It's a show that tries to straddle the line between being watchable for teens and for adults who lived KK. The acting is mediocre in some places. The format of 10 half-hour episodes doesn't give it much to work with. Yet, working within these limitations, it obviously has its heart in the right place. There's some great humor in there. It does a great job of presenting established characters from a new perspective (backstory between Johnny and his stepfather, then later the backstory for Kreese). It also does a good job of sticking to the formula while also modernizing it.
