Again you are extremely naive.
They have already decided. Trading is going to be realatively non existent. The more user are able to trade with each other, the more there is a black market. They don’t want a black market as the black market has represented more revenue than blizzard got selling discs/keys
If there is trading, it will be for unimportant things that don’t have any value.
You won’t be able to trade that GG rare or perfect unique you find.
Again, they want the whole pie. Not just some.
They are talking politician so they don’t make anyone upset, so they can sell more copies.
More copies is more revenue. More copies is a larger player base. And when they have a quarterly earnings report or investor briefing, being able to demonstrate a large user base for a new game they invested heavily in, makes people happy.
And that is what this is about.
I assume you think politicians do what they say they are going to do, because they said they would do it.
You look at the world how people tell you to look at it. Not how it actually is.
You are mostly right about the economics of it and what way they will lean toward.
On a bright note tho; after all the monetization schemes over the various games that people play, users are surprisingly becoming hip to this controlling/limiting style of development.
It will take gamers becoming more enlightened and rejecting these money schemes to give corporations a wake up call. Not going to happen.
This is a major loss for gamers and the imagination as a whole but I think I might be able to enjoy single player, unless they scrap that idea also 😅
