This was the original D2classic.net ruleset if you want to compare it with the current abomination.

Code

Overall rules

The basic pvp rules are: fair play, good manners, no naked killing, no shrines, no potions other than manapotions (super excluded),
no mercenaries, no corpse guarding, and maps are to be cleared of all monsters.

The duels take place in normal difficulty in the Blood Moor area. One player/team starts in cold plains waypoint and the other
player/team at the town exit of the Rogue Encampment. The duel starts when ALL players in both teams have said ".go".

It is not allowed to stack manapotions during a duel anywhere in or near the duelarea.

Rules only apply if they affect the duel.

Precasting or prebuffing is not allowed, except for Sorceress precasting "Energy Shield" or any of the three "Cold Armors" and
Barbarian precasting “Battle- Command & Order” and “Shout”. You are not allowed to boost your the precast skilllevel by using items
any other than weapons and naturally worn gear.

Teams consisting out of a Barbarian and an Orbsorceress are not allowed to precast "Battle- "Commands & Order"
and "Shout" using special precast weapons.

You are not allowed to have a Horadric Cube in your inventory.

When requested, a screenshot of your inventory must be made immediately inside the duel area with your Character- & Inventoryscreen
open along with the /time command. This screenshot must be sent immediately to Spirals@D2Classic.net. Failure to meet terms as
stated will result in severe penalties.

The belt must not contain anything other than mana potions/id scolls during duel.

The game must be played in the form Blizzard intented it to be. That means NO third party programs, nor any Modifications to the game.

When a player leaves bloodmoor during a fight he counts as dead and can no longer participate in that round. If Sorceress teleports
by accident in town, then she is allowed to re-enter the bloodmore without having healed or being camped at the town gate.

Player(s) must be active in duels. Intentional hiding or running away just to replenish life is not allowed.

Corner/house camping is not allowed.

Changing equipment is allowed between rounds but only if the items you want to change to are in your stash before the duel game started.

Maps can be rejected once per side. Bridge maps are rejected automaticaly.

All players must agree to show a screenshot of their map or other elements in game if another team requests it. This must be done
without anyone leaving the current game for any reason. If a player drops from the game when screenshots is asked, it will count
as loss to him/his team and judges will look further sanctions for this player. Screenshot must be taken inside duel area with
/time command result, map and other elements as requested visible on it. These screenshots must be sent to Spirals@D2Classic.net.

If your opponent requests for equipment check, you must agree to it and do it immediately without visiting stash or leaving game.

Intentionaly creating lag, for example by spamming curses, is not allowed.

You are not allowed to re-enter town in order to get arrows/bolts/mana potions. You are allowed to stack arrows/bolts
somewhere in the duel area.

Tournament rules:

If a player is dropped during the game then the opponent (1v1) or team will wait for 15 minutes max for the dropped player to return.
If the player who dropped didn't return by then then the player who dropped will lose the match (1v1). If it's a team vs team
situation then the duel has to continue without the dropped player. If player drops in middle of round, ongoing round must be played
to end without the dropped player, and after that round the 15 mins wait time starts.

In tournaments, duel time is limited to 45 minutes. When time limit is full, current round is played to end and result so far counts.
If result is a tie, another round has to be played in order to decide the winner in case of playoffs. Otherwise (groups match) the
result remain as a tie.

A Player can represent only one team in a tournament. Judges can give permission to move to another team as a backup-player in
different stages of a tournament (for example in the playoff-phase if the original team is already out).

If a player from a team can't play then a backup player may take his place but this player has to be of the same class and must
ofcourse play by the rules. Backup players can be taken only once in tournament, judges can give permit to do more changes for
valid reason.

Penalties:

If any misunderstanding or failure to follow the rules occurs, a judge is always to be contacted. They will clear the problem and if
needed give penalties. They have every right to decide what has to be done and this decision has to be followed.

Automatic penalty for minor rule break one lost round + wins in round(s) where it happened is lost . Minor rule break is something
that can be understood as a human error, like accidentally having 1% too much resist.

Automatic penalty for any bigger rule break is full loss in match where it happened.

Judges will always look into rule break cases, and decide on further penalties, depending on the severity of the case. Additional
penalties may be: disqualification of team/player from tournament or disqualification of player in team from tournament.

Note: Breaking these rules may result in extremely severe sanctions.

The duels were held at norm to limit ES sorcs access to big mana pots and to make it easier to reach the res limits. so it's like 240/190 at hell.
