well you do actually have the same feature in Discord. I just don't know what I would use it for on d2jsp:

I do not use Discord but in path of exile you have this feature too and all i added to my friedlist, got a note to remind me why i add them

How would you feel if the notes where displayed publicly so members can view it ?

Not my suggestion.

Well sure it is not your suggestion but it may help with this one ? As I mentioned before having personal notes on friends list could be a bit of an account security issue. I also don't feel right with the site adding/pushing note taking about friends and for personal use. If you have a buddy who offers a nice service then having a public note option would benefit both you and your friend.
