Good lord. We have minimal cases here and it's strict enforcement. You are not allowed in a single establishment without a mask. Grocery, bank, post office, etc. Food establishments are take out only, children below the age of 13 are not permitted to enter businesses, schooling is done via weekly packages delivered to homes.

What a world of difference we are.

That's not the key point. The crux is that the hypocrisy undermines the original message.

When liberal politicians and public figures act against the things they urge others to do, it proves that their criticism of covid-irresponsible behavior is (at least partially) driven more by political calculus than by genuine personal conviction.

all the unfortunate people who passed away in hospitals and nursing homes after not seeing any family for months is very sad to think about. as ridiculous as your suggestion sounds it probably would have worked

But they work too much! Congressman should not be a career when it is civil duty; originally they only got reimbursed for travel. and thats it.
