For now this post is mostly going to be about more general questions simply because nothing seems to be in stock currently + Christmas is going to cause a bunch of delays and whatnot. I'll likely end up buying it around ~february-march

I intend to buy from some site that'll build it for me. I know, it's super easy, etc etc but I'd rather just pay a little extra and be sure that it's going to work and if it doesn't then the fault isn't on me

1. What are some of the better UK-based PC builders? I've previously used PCSpecialist but had some issues with them, and my current one is from Overclockers but last I checked their range of products wasn't amazing

2. For people that actually have watercooling (not AIOs), how much maintenance is actually required? If I purchased a system with a full loop and didn't do anything to it for.. 4 years, would it fuck me / degrade so much that air would just be better?

3. Are there any specific parts that you would recommend looking out for or waiting for before buying a new system? I haven't really kept up with recent releases other than the GPUs

I'll post my budget and stuff anyways if anyone feels like doing a full build, but keep in mind it would have to be something I can actually choose from a UK based builder

Budget: ~£5000 (Would prefer to remain under 5k, but can definitely go a little over if it's worthwhile)
More specific use (what games, what programs): Pretty much just want something that can max any game + potentially stream + doesn't mind me having 700 chrome tabs up + is as "future proof" as possible
Planned time until purchase: Probably February - March, but potentially before Christmas if something really fits my needs and is in stock
Do you need an Operating System?: Yup, w10
Do you have any specific preferred components?: 3090, probably a ~1tb ssd for windows, same for games, and then a ~4-8TB hdd for movies and random shit
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Might get a sound card for memes but no
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Plan to OC
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Nope
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): UK, CM19 5JX

Random extra shit: I just want a case that's good for airflow (0 care about looks or RGB), 32-64GB ram, a good SSD for windows, a good SSD for games, and to have no issues doing whatever I end up deciding to play/do on it

I'm aware it's usually advised to build your own, and it's probably complete overkill to spend 5k when I could get something decent for ~3k and spend another ~3k in 2 years and future-proof that way

Nah I don't really care about the looks of watercooling, but a couple builder sites seem to only offer either AIO's or full watercooling so I figured I'd consider it as an option. I want to avoid AIO's, only ever had 1 and it ended up fucking my entire system after a few years

most will have warranties
if that happens
they replace the damaged parts

What do you expect from the people here?

3090 is a marketing scam.

64GB of RAM? What are you going to do with the pc besides gaming?

Wait for 5800x to be in stock (5600x if u can't wait)

Wait for the 3080TI

16GB is enough for gaming only. 32GB for future proofing.

Fractal got good cases. Fractal Meshify C has good airflow and looks premium.

If you want to spend a lot just wait and build a 4K 144hz gaming pc next year. But it sounds like you're not really serious.
