EVGA SuperNOVA GA 850 W 80+ Gold
vs
EVGA G5 850 W 80+ Gold
vs
EVGA G3 850 W 80+ Gold

All around the same price, same watt, same gold rating, same brand, fully modular...

All are basically the same price. But the Supernova GA seems to be the best of them and the newest? But still can't find any reviews. No idea about the differences? EVGA makes psu models confusing...

Any1 know which is best or anything specific on these?
Thanks!

Tier B
• EVGA | Supernova B3 post 2019 y. / G(1)+ / G5 / GD 2017 / GD 2019 -B* / GM / GS <=650W / GQ 850w+ / G(1)+ / (NEX-)G(1) (PG) 1000W / PQ

I think any of those fall under Tier B, I would probably buy whatever is the newest release imo. PSU ratings r weird.

Ga oem is andyson so I'd avoid,
G3 is by superflower which is what I'd recommend
G5 is by fsp if I recall

okay cool thanks! I'll check out their Tier A stuff as well.
Any suggestions for a similar price point thats fully modular, at least gold rated, and 850w psu from Tier A?
Wondering if Tier A to B is much different? like just better quality?

I think the Ga is the newest and cheapest among them. Most likely cheapest due to inventory. Looks like the G3 may have stopped being manufactured and cost a bit more due to this.
Also curious as I typed in this post if you would suggest any other similar PSU for price, gold, full modular, and quality?

I think I remember you are biased towards EVGA parts :] But yea looks like so far the G3 is the best option. Mostly was looking for a reputable brand, but from here seems like the OEM matters the most. So I will look into other brands as well. But wow, psu types are really confusing

ya def use the tom's hardware and linus link and try to find a PSU in that tier A list that is gold+ and go from there

Anything platinum+ is going to be quite a bit more expensive

Actually, I'm biased for Seasonic PSUs. The only EVGA PSUs that have Seasonic innards are the ones with the GS in the model number.

Super flower is also a really good PSU OEM manufacturer. And the pure Seasonic PSUs have had their prices go through the rook.
So then... EVGA with the 10 year warranty. :)

JonnyGuru website has the best power supply reviews. So I always just google: PSU make/model - jonnyguru.

In their reviews, check the last page... look for power supplies with a rating over 9.0, and you're pretty much good to go. Out of those PSUs, then look for those with long warranties.

No, it's cheapest cuz andyson is a trash oem compared to sf and ss
G3 may cost a bit because of limited inventory, but it's still made by superflower which is in the same godtier as seasonic. I personally prefer them over the more recent seasonics. Also backed by EVGA which is a bonus. Doesn't matter though, cuz u said they're similar in price.

Idk what ur budget is for PSU, I use pcpartpicker to find the best balance of cost and warranty that is made by a reputable PSU oem manufacturer like seasonic/superflower. Brands come second.
