Oh really? I guess you haven't heard of the National Socialist Party of Germany then.
Or Dominionists, Aum Shinrikyo, The Hutu anti-Tutsi conspiracists, The Republika Srpska... The list is fucking long.

QAnon is a death cult. I would even be comfortable calling it a neo-nazi death cult. The broader GOP is not... Although it does have members of death cults like dominionists and QAnoners in it's ranks.

the ones i highlighted do NOT fit the lexical definition you insisted on previously. you're being "wrong and dumb" there, according to your own standards. aum shinrikyo does, but their body count, while tragic, is chicken feed compared to the trump death cult.
to be clear, i'm referring to his fanatic followers and q-anon conspiracists, those that uncritically accept all the anti-scientific and corona-denying bullshit he spews. i never claimed the whole GOP was one. as a matter of fact, GOP lawmakers who openly criticised and acted against trump's ideology all received death threats from his unhinged followers.

dominionists are an interesting mention though. one could convincingly argue that they are the one example that has the tens of thousands trump-cult victims beat, and also somewhat fits your stricter definition of a "death cult" - even though clearly not in all aspects.

Except they actually do fit. I would not be the first to argue that Nazism constitutes a secular religion. Nor that conspiratorialism in general has religious and cultic aspects.

interesting, so how exactly do nazism / the hutu / the republika srpska meet the definition you mentioned ("new religious movements with an obsession with death. Usually through millenarianist prophecy although occasionally through ritual and sacrifice"), while the trump death cult doesn't? what's the distinction? i'm trying to understand where exactly you draw the line, because from my perspective it seems rather arbitrary, like you're trying to somehow square your previous post with your original one, even though they sure seem to contradict each other...
