Let’s not complicate things. Who needs to track fg donations? A search function would be good though.

I'm supporting this suggestion partly. I do like and find useful the drop-down menu to categorize the Gold Logs between sent/received/purchases (topic titles, FG purchases), but I'm against the "donation" check-box and thus to the drop-down menu for Donations.
In my opinion, it's not popular enough to receive donations --- EVEN if it was, as David stated, it's redundant --- this is a "received transaction". You could easily find a donation if you add as a comment "donation", that's the purpose of "optional comments" (and HIGHLY recommended to add a comment to all of your transactions).

That being said, I voted yes -- but I still find the Donation box unnecessary! ^_^

You can have your opinion on the subject but it is definitely not complicated to set up and simplifies a lot of things behind :)

Hey Ricci,

Thank you for developing your point of view.

To set up an idea, it must be possible and accessible to as many people as possible. The commentary is a note to simply remember the details of the transaction but has no place here.
The question is how to find the donations in a large transaction list, through the drop-down menu?
It is useful to have the possibility of checking a box in order to then better find its transactions.
I draw your attention to the fact that it is very easy to set up.
I think donations are popular enough for a tool to appear.

Why the donation button:
★ Without that, we cannot find the donations made in the transactions list (comments are of no use if the person does not clearly write "donation" and this is very rare, therefore useless here).
★ It is an extremely simple and fast way in extension to the main idea to be able to display donations only.
★ This allows this type of transaction to be officially tracked. And even if they are less numerous than traditional transactions, they do exist. It allows to have a useful support in case of dispute between member to see concretely what happened (and this often happens unfortunately).
★ It is a possibility for the member to classify his transactions, free to him not to check it.

The donation button is just an extension to the main idea, very easy to set up. Honestly I don't see too much debate on this if the main idea is accepted :)

An alternative solution, to go in your direction, would be to make the comments mandatory. But that is another topic of discussion I think.

Do not hesitate if you have any questions.

Thanks for your support, appreciated!
