I'm not bothered about diablo being female, that much was whatever.
However, picking up d2 again for a run with my buddy Jolteown, there are definitely some things from d2 that stand out as imbalanced after years of not playing, and time playing d3.
Paladin shields - all other classes are stuck with monarch for spirit as the lowest str requirement, having far less resist.
The wizard sources in d3 were something that we definitely miss.
This is just one example of the imbalance in class items, the lack of Rune words for nec heads for example and the inability to make things like leaf in an orb are a big imbalance and it seems certain classes have far more choice and diversity than others.
Personally I enjoyed d3 a lot once ros launched, and many things about it stand out as better, I'd go as far as to say all pve is better save for the worse environments (not in design, the art design was great, but they did nothing original).
However, the pvp is obviously nothing in comparison, the lack of trading was horrid, the social side of the game in general was terrible, and it's lack of diversity in items.
Dont forget all the modded gear in diablo 3. Unless you liked that crap, it killed the game for me.
