I played with toy guns as a kid all the time, no one shot me.
In fact no kid anywhere in australia has been shot by some demented sub 90 iq pig for playing with a toy.
So it's now a police officers duty to have to discern between a replica weapon and a real firearm in a matter of seconds when it's aimed at them? That sounds like a rabbit hole.
Utilizing a replica firearm in a lot of United States law is also equivalent to using a real firearm, one case is such as robberies. Obviously a different scenario, but the burden is not on others to have to make that distinction of real vs fake firearm.
