The FBI is holding a press conference right now, declaring that ]Iran was behind the fake intimidating emails to voters pretending to be from the Proud Boys and threatening democrats
Apparently the Proud Boys were migrating their website from one URL to another and let their old address lapse, and it was seized by the Iranians who used it to send the emails.

Iran like the country, or Iran like some citizens in Iran? Because thats a fairly bold statement.

DNI Ratcliffe phrased it as Iran the country, without specifying further, and took no questions.

I would assume that some government-sponsored hackers/agents who arent officially working for the Iranian government or the Revolutionary Guards are responsible for this.


Either way, good that this case was solved so quickly. Polarization, anxiety and division are at an all-time high, so any minor bit of partisan toxicity which can be removed from the American body politic is a win for the whole country.
