i have a sony vaio laptop, bought it when d3 came out, so maybe like 8-10 years ago...

i have 150 internet - meaning my internet should be around 150mb/s download
i ran several speed tests over the past month, and i usually only get 15-30 mb/s download speed on my sony vaio laptop
i ran the same speed test with my phone and i get about 125mb/s

what can i do to get faster internet speed on my laptop? is there a free/cheap program i can use to cleanup my pc to get it to run faster, or is this a hardware issue where i will need to upgrade some hardware. or will i need a new pc all together?

Are you sure its not showing up as MB not Mb?

I would simply format the device and fully update it to windows 10.
That would rule out software then look up the nic and see what its rated for.
Additionally try close by the router and see it it also improves.

worst case scenario would be to replace the wifi card inside if possible.
