The only thing they need to do is:
- give d4 an actual functioning currency
- ban RMT trading
Yes. Some sort of droppable currency coin, with decent rarity similar to an Um rune. Which cannot be obtained by RM, quests or exploited by specific region farming and whose drop chance can not be increased by anything.
Add ingame integrated whiteboard-like offer database. Where each account can write, edit and maintain one page (limized text size) with what he is looking for and what he is selling. The data is available even when acc is ofline.
Others then use full text search, reviews the offers and get in contact by ingame whisper or ingame post. The actual trade is then handled via trade window as it is in D2.
This is not as stupid as AH since ppl are forced to do research, review and talk to each other. It is not as immersion braking as jsp + don't need to pay RM to an unrelated 3rd party site. You can find the ingame currency on your own or trade it from others for the items you find.
Plus: unlike jsp fg, the ingame currency is bound to your acc. So you will think twice before using hacks and risking to loose all you ingame money.
But banning RM trading in general is not possible I think. One cant really control RM transfers outside of the game followed by just item transfer inside the game.
But if they manage to establish ingame currency and trading then 99% of the playerbase will be fine with that. There will always be 1% rich kids paying 800$ for total perfect 1.08 valor on ebay or the item shoppers. Just leave them alone if that is what makes them happy.
