Hi Guys,

I'm upgrading my little brothers computer.

We currently have the old HDD and the brand new SSD hooked up. we are planning to keep both in there - but I want to get windows/boot on the new SSD.

I know there is an easy way to do this without a cloning device, since I've done it on my PC... but totally forgot how.

any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!!

I don't have a cloning device and he wants to keep his info on the HDD though :\

But maybe this is what you mean by fresh install? I found this;
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.

Would I install it into a USB stick, then plug it into the computer, run BIOS and select the stick and boot drive. then When it runs I can choose the right options from there?
With everything still on the old HDD and the OS/Boot systems running from the new SSD?

Software stuff aint my specialty, lol I hope that makes sense

You use clonezilla, no need physical hardware.
