Would Flint Michigan have benefited from gentrification? Or would the city water still have sucked?

Gentrification has been thrown through so many definition arguments its become a bit fuzzy in aggregate. Its something organized people have been doing since they have organized, so its not inherently bad.... How its done, and the rate of change do have real impact on 'social capital'. Restoring an area to a cultured 'middle-class' state can be one. Refacing an area to something else, def pisses locals off.
