let's go over each stat and compare it with an unupped hoz and see which is a better shield.


+2 to paladin skill levels - tie

10% fhr - irrelevant. smiters don't need fhr.

30% faster block rate - tie

20% increased chance of blocking - hoz wins (30% increased chance of blocking)

55% enhanced damage - rare wins (here is probably the stat that tricked most people. hoz has 20 str which is 20ed. hoz also has +2 to combat which translate to another 30ed from +2 to holy shield. so hoz actually has 50%ed)

120 to attack rating - hoz wins (20% bonus to attack rating)

21 to life - hoz wins (20 vit is 60 life on hoz. 21 life after bo is 42 life on rare)

all resist +17 - hoz wins (all resist +50)

socket 2 - (rare wins with 1 extra socket)


when you add the overall advantage together, this top-tiered rare shield has 5% more ed, and 1 more socket while the hoz has better defense, better blocking, more ar, more life, more resist. this costs 12.5k, perf upped hoz is under 1k
