All after you can choose wargloves and bh pavese against barb depends if you want bm or gm

Rattle barb is best as bva

Equip high def items wherever possible so you can switch to nate & gobs if you like like LsE said

With decent gear vs another barb it takes always 1ww anyway and both barbs die. Except if one has high def, then he wins.

Vs casters you want speed - so get 70frw (without blink and mind the run malus of some item types which decrease your effective r/w speed). You can also skill for leap instead of def (shout & iron skin) but I rcommend to spend at least 16 points to cover 1 screen. With that you can fuxx all the casters by interrupting their casts and to stun while walking. Also to my experience you can survive much longer vs casters (like vs necro) as it dodges their casts.

I saw your bva. Very nice... so besides the 17 leap how much into natural resis and speed??

Id go for 70frw with boots, rest into nat res

Edit: 16 hard points +1 bo to reach lvl 17 leap to cover 1 screen (14 if +2 weap)
