I'd still be running my 2500k if I even played games anymore.

I wanted to buy one back in May, but waited for a few reasons. Figured with economic issues and other factors causing PC parts to rise, I would wait.

Any chance things look better now? Or may as well just buy new PC parts, no point in waiting it out?

Price range is around $1200 to $1400. Just the tower and parts inside etc. Not asking for pieces here, just to give an idea of the types of parts I will be buying. Also because new CPU types may be coming out soon? No idea, have not been keeping up with the news for parts.

Thanks all!

Wait for black friday.

Using a TV as a monitor
or
The r9 200 series pairing with a 4k screen while not being able to even get 60hz

Tv Depends on what games single player its fine And some mp are alright
And pairing them together is fine, same thing depends on game settings And you can always lower resolution

Id never want to be capped by my display/s
Kinda use it as a level of where i want to get to before i think it's time for complete overhaul of display/s
Rather upgrade gpu or something else
And as resolutions keep going up what cpu you have means little compared to the gpu

That's just me though

He can easily grab new gpu and drive that monitor fine without being worried about needing new monitor to take advantage of his newer gpu

old gpu died, bought cheaper one quick. later got 4k monitor because old 1440p monitor died. don't really play many games anymore. but stuff like youtube or other movies and a few tv shows are nice in 4k.
also like others said, i think its fine to go beyond with a monitor, can always upgrade gpu later. 1440p vs 4k monitor was only like 100 bucks difference

in US.
I agree its something to consider. But I would assume sales can be found year round. Mostly worried things are still on short supply, so the sales are much less of a deal lately.
