Does this trick not work anymore?

I just lost an eth cryptic axe because the item would not drop in a new game. This is the second time it’s happened to me...

Damn, that sucks. I was about to go see how many sockets I would get on it.

This could be a bug i can do item on cursor on white, gray unsocketed, runeword, unique items and it came out ok but i did lose an eth thresher doing that method so probably related to being eth so idk.

You might be onto something about the eth part, both times I lost the item it was an eth polearm which I had no room for. I was curious if maybe it was just ladder, so I joined a non ladder game, picked up a belt someone dropped in town, joined another game and it dropped fine. IDK, but if I find another eth polearm on ladder, I’m not testing this method again lol.

what kind of " trick " are you talking about here ?
how has this even happened ? why do you think this is item specific and cannot be done with any other item ?

It’s not necessarily a “trick”

If you don’t have any room for an item in your inventory, you can “hold” the item on your cursor into a new game. However, this has failed for me twice, with certain types of items and conditions. That is all I know.

ohh okay i see so you have left game with an item on your cursor .
no 3rd party programs involved ? i m really curious if this can happen
on an unmodified client O.o

thanks for these details though , i recommend you having a merc ready for
the next time you do this . because you can get rid of items stuck in cursor
by giving / swapping them with your merc s item .
