The seven is a 100% match of the Justice League, they just switched out an irrelevant character for something a little more interesting on the TV show version, but they at least made his power similar. I'm not sure why they didnt keep him martian looking, maybe they figured it'd he too offputting for a new audience just getting into the show. The show changing that character doesn't change the authors intent or what the seven is.

The Seven were created as a parody of the Justice League. The author has talked openly about his dislike of cookie cutter superheroes and TLJ is the ultimate in righteous fuck bois lol.

I've only watched the first episode of season 2 so far, but they're making some choices I'm not overly found of so far. I'll catchup on the rest soon.

The original 7 in the original media are a copy of the JL. They changed 1 member for the show, which literally doesn't fucking matter for the original discussion. Noir is Batman because the 7 are the JL. Changing one of the 7 doesn't make the remaining 7 not still based on the JL. Hell you could change every single one of the 7 except Noir to be based on the Avengers, that would not change the fact that Noir is Batman.

Someone changing the structure of a show doesn't alter the characters history, that's just not how shit works.

Jack from Jupitor and Lamplighter have literally none of the abilities of there JL counterparts, but are obviously a parody of them in name/appearance. Making a slight switch in an effort to not alienate the audience doesn't change anything.

Maybe you're doing the same thing, but Blah and myself have explained multiple times why Translucent is a non-factor for The Seven = TJL side.

All that being said, who gives a shit lol? Interpret it however you want, but the writers intent was as a parody TLJ, which is obvious. If you want to believe it's the Avengers, Suicide Squad or the Ninja fucking Turtles, more power to you.
