I have a Trek Fx 2 Disc, as about $700 CAD

I love it for an entry level real bike. No shocks though so really not much offroad, trail, she can ride on gravel comfortably but any mbx trails would be awful.

My Fiance got a cruiser and i hate it lol, shes extra slow on it :(
She loves it and its a good looking bike though lol

I was looking at the trek 7 but heard that you have to be over 150 lbs for the shock to work. My wife falls a little below that. I've owned a couple of motorcycles, and some of these bicycle pricing are pretty shocking

Probably under 1k or so for a starter bike.

Ok and I'm guessing the trails she will be riding aren't going to be very intense?

MOstly neighborhood riding and hiking trails. Nothing too extreme.

Trek Dual Sport - 3 Different Models in 3 Price points. It has a front fork but the tires are not super beefy. Hybrid bike

Trek Marlin - Under 600. Has wider tires for more capability off road. This is similar to what my wife rides and she never hits the trails
https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/mountain-bikes/cross-country-mountain-bikes/marlin/marlin-5-womens/p/23133/?colorCode=grey_teal

Specialized Jynx - Exact bike my wife has. She enjoys riding around town (might want a seat with more cushion) and has done some easier trails
https://www.specialized.com/us/en/jynx-650b/p/106545?color=&searchText=85615-7301

IMO brand is a big thing. Specialized and Trek are consistently among the highest quality bike makers. There are other quality brands but this is what I found in a few minutes of searching.

I was actually looking at the marlin prior to this search. Will probably go with it after reading reviews, thanks again!
