Was just reading a book and learned it was Saturday until Constantine shifted it to Sunday to align more with the pagan sun worshipers (religion of rome prior to Christianity) to create similarities to their religion in order to unify everyone under Christianity.
It was a common method, during the spreading of christianity. putting their holydays on existing pagan holydays, like Christmas and so on
