Basically under the idea that anybody can come onto your property and it's not your personal home so we're not actually spying since we could park somebody out there to watch you without even being on your property.
If the field is open and visible to the public on other properties then it's not illegal spying, but if they broke into a house or building that was obscured from general view, that would be illegal spying.
Check out the link. They describe 100+ acres, 1 road in/out, gated, signs up stating no trespassing, properly posted, and they still came in and put up cameras.
