so using an old windows xp netbook, ive had d2 installed on this comp for about 10 years and it has worked perfectly up until last month. I started getting this error "battle.net is unable to identify your application version" every now and then when trying to connect to battlenet, but now i get this error every single time and i dont know how to fix this.

I have tried reinstalling d2 and I get the same error, i just dont know what to do to fix this

just attempted to connect to us east and it lets me, but i cannot connect to uswest (where i play)

maybe state that in initiall post,
in any event either key is flagged or bad install.
Did you patch game before running it?
is it in window mode? is it running as admin?

yea i should have stated that in my initial post, my bad

so when i reinstalled it the first time, it said bad patch and wouldnt work, reinstalled again and then the patch went through fine, tried to connect to bnet and i got the same error, "battle.net is unable to identify your application version" (this was 2 days ago)

Today i attempted to see if maybe i could connect to west and it let me, i still got the "battle.net is unable to identify your application version" twice but after a few tries it let me connect

I am not running d2 in window mode

I cannot run the computer as admin because i bought this computer off someone like 10 years ago and they made an admin acc with a pw that i do not know

Well it’s been working now, rather INconsistently but it’s been working

When I reinstalled, I installed to a diff location

As far as cc cleaner goes, might give it a shot but I don’t think it will do anything, literally all I use this comp for is d2, nothing else
