D2 dueling was kinda messed up but people put in the time and effort to come up with rules to make it mostly fair

Especially 1v1 gmpk and fpks

fun doesn't make the mechanics any better.

So in general, what you are saying is that you played diablo 2 because you had nothing better to do but play a shitty game because it was the only game you could play? the "best of a bad situation''? I played d2 cause its fun and i have lots of fun dueling, im not in some bad situation that forces me to play. If you dont like the game go do something that makes you happy? Sounds like your just bypassing your scarce resource we call 'Time'.

historically every arpg that has ever had pvp, has been terrible.
Not a hard concept to understand.

Sure d2 was fun, didn't say it wasn't, said the mechanics in pvp were terrible, and they were.

The mechanics aren't that bad for a 20 year old arpg, it was mainly the glitches what made d2 pvp what it is. You have swirls + any form of dmg stuns, % hp fhr stuns and then wsg/tanktrick/animation cancelling to avoid these stuns. The mechanics of how namelocking works and being able to chainlock numerous different ways is kinda fun too. Also c/t teleports being used. Could also add skill glitch mechanics, although they aren't as well used or needed as much.

Just kind of sucks how items like Enigma were such a big part of what makes the pvp fun also as every char needs to be able to teleport to be viable, except zon ofc.

Definitely the best pvp a arpg has seen and it will be hard to beat purely because of the accidental glitches the game has, which made the pvp so great

one d2 mechanic i hope they have in d4 is desync
