He use to own a Grand Prix GT and decided he wants another pontiac.
He's talking about getting a 6.0 GTO ( Ls2 ofc)
Me i use to own a t top 98 trans am ( ls1) and loved that car to death.
I love the interior of the GTOs tho not gonna lie..
Anyways the reason for this post is , im trying to convince my brother to to buy a 2003+ SVT COBRA. 390 Hp stock... 4.6L procharged.... STOCK .... Amazing.

What are your arguments on why he should buy one car over the other?

I will show him this since he doesn't use jsp.
Thanks :)

While I'm not a fan of the GTO, the Camaro from 98-02 was a much better car, I wouldn't buy a SVT Cobra. The 390hp means nothing, horsepower isn't a measurement of speed. It's supercharged, not procharged. Let's see "390hp". The 98-02 Camaro had 325. The fastest bone stock Cobra went a 12.6. The fastest bone stock a LS1 Camaro went was 12.8. You're telling me Ford with "390hp" and a supercharger could only go two tenths of a second faster than a "325hp" Camaro that had no forced induction?. The LS2 GTO is a little slower than the LS1 Camaro. Fastest bone stock ran a 12.9. Of course these are all BEST conditions. Individual driver will be different of course, along with location and plenty of other factors. The Terminator is the only Mustang I'd ever be interested in buying, but as a collectors car. The price is going up too much and there are better cars for the performance/price than what the SVT Cobra gives you. *EDIT* Sorry, I didn't really include on why the GTO. The LSx series of engine is probably the best V8 built in history and by far the most popular to modify. The fastest street cars in the world are using some variant of the LSx. The T-56 manual transmission is one of the best manuals in history along with the 4l65e automatic being pretty damn good as well.

Those 03/04 Cobras are legit. Terminator engines, fantastic.

The 00/01 Cobras are just GTs basically

As for him, I lose the WS6 Birds if he can find a nice 00-02 one. That would be my choice over a GTO any day.

but depending on budget, Id still say a C5 or C6 if hes in the $12-$20k Range

Edit- didnt read ur entire post, you covered the Terminator lol. My bad.

The C5 was capable of running a 12.6 stock, same time that the Cobra has ran. The plus side to the Corvette is it's going to handle better than the Cobra and you can get the C5 for little under 10k now depending on the year. I've seen the C5 Z06 for as cheap as 13k. That'll be capable of running 11s stock and handle better than the Cobra could ever dream. The C6 is obviously nice too but if I had to choose for the price, the C5Z is definitely an amazing car.

Gen 2 Coyote engines are good, if ya really want two cams. IMO - go with one cam and get a LS. GM has built a billion of them. KISS theory =Keep It Simple Stupid. Ls is definitely Cleetus approved.
