What were they making in that lab that John got caught inside?

What did it turn him into exactly? like to what extent are his powers,
he is immortal?

why would he be able to burn that mark on his forehead if he is unharmable?
why did he choose that mark does it have meaning?

in the middle of the movie he says he is tired of all these people
and due to the conspiracy he plans now to leave earth and what? craft his own planet?

he's super op, for all intensive purposes his powers are unlimited (except in the show they still make him lose somehow which i still have a huge issue with but w/e)

he can change his appearance, the circle might not actually be "burned" into his head

Just read the comic book.

Also, it's a piece of fiction, explaining every little detail just ruins the purpose.

I don't think they were making anything, they're physicists doing expirements. It was some type of chamber that ripped his atoms apart and he was able to reform. Like most comics, this shit is fiction, it's not explainable and it's the equivalent of asking "What kind of chemicals exactly made DareDevil a superhero?"

He can do whatever the hell he wants and his body can be ripped apart, it happens in the film, so why wouldn't he be able to burn a symbol into it?

He'd lost his humanity ages ago, he doesn't understand how humans think or function anymore and he only stayed around for the sake of those people he cared about. With all the bullshit these lower life forms were pushing on him, he just said fuck it and left to figure out what he wanted to do. He even explained that he would try to create life, so not sure what you missed there..

Really though, this is the best answer. It's fiction and either you can make sense of it for yourself or you can't, but it doesn't really matter because none of it is real lol.

Dr. Manhattan symbol is for hydrogen as explained in the comic/movie.

Also he was written to be a more "realistic" god-like being, kind of a cynical take on Superman. Moore thought/thinks that if you had godlike power you would eventually grow detached and bored of humanity, which is why he hated Superman and why he made Manhattan.

"intensive purposes"

people generally use both for all intents and purposes and for all intensive purposes to mean “in every practical sense,” ”seeming as if,” or “virtually/almost completely"

I like how you left out the last part of that

"the standard form of the idiom is for all intents and purposes."

Well done
