Diablo 2 never appealed to me that much either, at least not in the same way that Diablo 1 does. Even with trading, it's just too damn hard to get all the specific gear you want for a build. It seems like when you're MFing, you get every single item EXCEPT the one you're looking for.

But I always liked Diablo 1, especially Ironman, because it always felt more tactical, like you're genuinely trying to survive and have to manage resources. In Diablo 2 you hunt monsters, but in Diablo 1 it feels more like the monsters hunt YOU.

i agree diablo 1 is a great game i like the dark lonely atmosphere that makes exploring intense and a little scary. its just a shame its so outdated these days
diablo 2 is the best game ever imo they nailed it! i think classic was actually better but LOD is still great game i think it involves alot more grinding to get what you want than d1 but thats why it lives forever
diablo 3 on the other hand is just a disgrace to the franchise and looks like d4 will follow in its foot steps unfortunately

Does anybody even play Classic still? I would if there was still a community for it.

i have a couple of d2 friends who have gone back to classic recently, have been seriously contemplating making a classic character again to join them
