I'm in the process of building a new pc, 3900x cpu, and am wondering if I'll really see any difference between 3200 and 3600 ram. My girlfriend is a manager at our local Best Buy, and I can get the 3200 ram for about 60% of the price of the 3600. The last time I built my own computer my 128mb gpu cost $600, so it's been a while.

So, for gaming, and some light rendering of drone footage, will I see much a difference between 3200 and 3600 ram? Cas latency starts climbing fast higher than 3600, so not really sure where the sweet spot is.

EDIT: Oh, and no, there won't be any gpu bottleneck to determine whether or not faster ram is worth it, I got a manager discount 2080 ti Aorus Extreme for $865 lol.

I would look for 3200Mhz with 14-14-14-34 timings, or 3600Mhz with 16-16-16-36 timings.

Plug your motherboard's make, chipset and model in here... https://www.gskill.com/configurator

Turns out the answer didn't matter. Best Buy's RAM options aren't the greatest. I bought a 16x2 kit of 3200 for now, if i find myself needing something more I'll buy something better somewhere else.

Thanks though xD
