So someone has managed to mangle the work computer. Or it's happened after the latest Windows update.

There are 3 hard drive, one solid state that holds Windows, 2 1tb storage drives.

Windows boots fine, can access all of c no problem.

First storage drive is viewable but says "blabla need to format" shows as raw. Can't access any files on it.

Second storage drive doesn't show up at all.

Any ideas how I fix the first one without formatting, and how to get the second to show up?

Any help appreciated :wub:

Raw drive lost its partition table and/or may be damaged.
Use test disk to rebuild partition.
Second could be a few things. Question is how important is the data and why us... Get boss to have it fixed.

The data isn't exactly nuclear level, but it's cad/cam drawings and cnc programs that have been amassed over the last 10 years or so, so it constitutes a few thousand man hours worth of stuff.

And easy to say get boss to get it fixed, but we're in the middle of a pandemic and money is tight, if I get it fixed for some extra brownie points it doesn't do any harm eh. :D

Yeah but if you mess with it you may ruin chances for a real data recovery specialist.

I'd clone drives now with clone zilla before you even try fucking with em.

Option 1: Right click the Windows Start button and select disk management. Show me a screenshot of what it says. (Block out any work-sensitive information if need be)

Option 2: Type diskpart in the windows search bar and push enter. Type the command list disk and tell me what it says.
