So me and this 1 nice kid used to work at the same place awhile ago.
We weren't friends & hangout or anything, but we had a common interest in computers.
Well he is looking for a computer for relative of his, to get the relative into gaming ect.

He offered me 600$ Via his bestbuy credit card ( In store, even if its an online product )
Otherwise He said it would be a few weeks, but he would do 400$ cash ( and i keep my graphics card)

Path of exile harvest expansion comes out in 20 minutes... ( friends i play with are running 1 day late so no big deal )
I was having some FPS/Lag issues due to my CPU always being 98-100 % ( because I run on a 4k tv ect )

I would go from a i5 3570k cpu to a i5-10600 (24-25% boost ) ( Newer socket type )
Biostar mobo, to a better mobo im sure ( newer socket type ) Supporting Latest Models of CPU
32gb 4x8 DDr 1600hz ram to... 16gb 2x8gb DDR4 Unknown hz ( still a boost)

EVGA - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card - Black/silver
To NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB (1% FPS boost in games ) 13% better multi render + ray tracing as a bonus.

2TB hard drive as well.

----------
With all of this in mind, Would it be a better option to take the 400 cash + graphics card
or the 600$ bestbuy credits

New PC will be about $1,300 after tax im sure.
But I would only get this pc if Bestbuy credits ( can always upgrade the CPU later on if needed. )

If i take the cash, then i would probably order some stuff on newegg/amazon, but then im waiting 2-4 weeks b/c of covid delays
Then i would Miss the entire new expansion/league.

Like what would you guys do? Any suggestions?

The wait if you went the newegg way, would be less than a week, assuming the things you order are in stock.
As for best buy credits... I would take a pass on that. Compared to Newegg or Amazon... the chances of Best Buy having something they don't, are pretty slim.

/ee If so desired you can probably sell your GTX 1080 for more than $200

Hmm yeah i see, Even if its 600$ Best-Buy credits, I could still get the CPU + water Cooler seperately.
then the rest on newegg. Interesting.

Be aware that Best Buy claims to have things in stock on PCpartpicker, but then once at their site, they really don't. Also if there's a microcenter near you, you could probably save $100-$200

I just did an upgrade myself. I found that in order of speed and availability, right now, Newegg and B&H Photo have what they say they have and are fast. Then comes Amazon... and after that availability is pretty much wishful thinking.
