Replacing a CPU in an old dell inspirion
Never crossed my mind to try conductonaut for a paste replacement
I already swapped out the fan for a slightly higher rpm model so I figure the regular paste can handle it just fine.

Not really sure if its worth any possible cooling gains at this point. Thoughts?

i used high-end thermal paste on an lga 1150 intel stock heatsink once
basically learned it makes no difference to use good paste on a shit cooler... the thermal bottleneck is the heatsink's ability to dissipate heat either way

Even a slight googling regarding this matter shows that it is horrible idea due to gallium being reactive metal in the paste. Aluminum is guaranteed to get messed up, copper also over time.

e/ so unless your heat sink is made of gazillion $'s valued rare metal, no
