I'm not a regular poster here. My chat has been suggesting that the jsp PvM community might be interested in hearing about my single pass runs; I figured what better way than to start with today's gg drop.

For some background info:
I always do these runs on P8, HC, SSF - I only use plugy for extended stash. I also full clear every map. I am most comfortable playing shifter druid, but chat had voted I try barb for this run (one of my least played classes). I've been weapon starved the entire run. An early Lem rune secured a lawbringer in A2NM tombs. That was the last "highest" rune I found until A2H. Everything was an Io or lower until a Lum drop somewhere around maggot lair. Then the flood gates opened. I managed to get an Ist in ancient tunnels which was truly disappointing; I've been holding onto an eth highland blade for an oath since A1H. So, I've been hoping for a Mal and Pul, even an Um for a 3os Legend Sword base I have. When I entered the first tomb during today's stream I had remarked on the similarity of the stair pattern to when our Lem dropped in nightmare, likewise this map had wraiths. I actually started "predicting" (joking for) a Mal rune drop.

P.S. Hell Countess was kind enough to drop tir tal, and my NM hellforge was a shael.

I decided to make a Fortitude armor: I already had a decent armor base and I would immediately benefit from the +ED% and huge defense boost (2.5k to 9k). I figured waiting for a mal and 5os PB wasn't the right call as I could simply make an Oath later and the eth Highland blade + Fortitude would roughly be about as much damage as a mid roll grief sans forti.

I understand why you guys think that. But there's no guarantees I get the base or mal rune. I'm quite happy with taking the early 40% phys dmg boost rather than sitting on the Lo rune and possibly dying.

Also, the clip is no longer available, due to all the DMCA stuff going on with twitch. I had to remove all my VODs last night.
