Not that I have high hopes for D4... but people saying "looks like D3" are also wrong. The style, textures, lighting etc... look nothing like D3.

Saying "well this game has cooldowns, so it's D3 jr" isn't an argument.

If you want it to look like D2 I'm sure we could find some 2D animators and a time machine to get you your fix.

If they released anything that looked even remotely like a game from 20 years ago they would be laughed out of the gaming industry. As much as we might like older games, they do not visually hold up.

Better off waiting for the potential D2 remaster instead of wanting D4 to be a re-skinned D2 clone.


Old school runescape looks like dog shit -- people play it for the nostalgia and the fact that they didn't enjoy RS3 (sounds like D2 and D3, right?)... but if Jagex spent over a decade making another Runescape game and just re-released OSRS with some new items people would think they were morons.

If this game was called something completely different.

Like "Last Crusader" or something like that, and wasnt made by Acti-Blizz it would seem ok.

Just doesn't deserve the Diablo name or the legacy it carries.

Well with Diablo 3 I had the same issues that I'm seeing once again now with Diablo 4. The graphics. Granted, D4 is still a work in progress, and I'm thankful for anything new and Diablo... but it's just that the graphics still to me look "Cartoony". It's like I'm watching this anime hybrid videogame or something. I know, Diablo 2's graphics are dated, but they still hold up for some reason. I want visceral graphics, I want non-cartoon. I want Diablo 2, but higher resolution... Is this not possible??? I want extreme gore, blood, evil looking demons and satanic imagery!!! Come on Blizzard!!!

If you don’t want resources or cool downs go to an arcade and pump quarters into a hack n slash machine, they both create more versatility for specific builds that match up with gear making it more customizable for each player. There will always be meta but not everyone likes the exact same builds, especially casual players.
