Umm the custom loop provides better temps period. That's its real advantage.
To bad the system will start to throttle, 72 C which is its max rated temp.

The last part I have to read up on but I believe you know what your saying, you have been quite accurate on such matters in the past.
I haven't personally tried to Over clock any of them myself yet.

a modern cpu is not throttling at a mere 72c... that's not very high at all. The better temps are there but other options still keep you underneath throttling temps.

i think you are referring to the tCase limit which is 72c, that is much lower than the core temp limit which won't start to throttle until either 95c or 100c

yeah that was tcase, google mislead me when I searched.
In multi tasking the temp jumps drastically and then instantly throttle for him in this video...

@4:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D95c8MwYhM

Then sits at 100c at 5.2 which lets be honest isn't ideal.

I guess real world you won't notice these temps but OP wants to stream and game at same time so thermals may play a role in the end.
Haven't had my hands on these new intel chips long enough to overclock them myself, just long enough to assemble and pass it on.

@ 5:55
in video stock 10700k with AIO shows 93 degrees with prime95
@5.3ghz system throttles to 5ghz and sits at 100c which once again not ideal.

his voltage is beyond absurd, no one in their right mind would run that chip at 1.55v for daily use.

Think he left voltage on auto.
Didn't read comments or watch full video just skipped through for charts.

In this one he has a custom loop with a FAT rad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsDvsC7Fo9E

He's running lower voltages (1.35) and still hitting 95c in prime95
Idk if op's AIO will be able to keep up to be frank.

/edit
also note its not a full 5.3 across all cores either.
think it was 53/53/51/51/51/50/50 etc

95c in p95 is fine, pretty sure that's below throttling and that's already a massively higher load then you'll ever see in real life

This started cause I said that he'll probably not be able to do a 5.3 with his AIO (which is where I'd say a GOOD OC starts).
With the streaming and gaming and other tasks running its going to be a significant load.
I still doubt it can and I guess we won't know till someone can test it.

i dont think he's going to be able to hit 5.3 period
10700k is badly binned

altho imo even gaming and streaming still isnt going to push a cpu remotely as hard as p95 would. Esp. on an 8-core, when 6 cores is enough to do those things already...

p95 is ridiculous. i use aida64 for more reasonable but still basically worst case thermals (it still uses AVX).

So, thanks for the discussion guys, i guess I'll wait a little longer to see if stock improves for AMD/Intel as everything I'd like to buys on back order anyways right now but you've helped me narrow my decision down so I appreciate it.
