If in ladder you have more than 3 characters
example:
4. Hamm
5. Concoude char a
6. Consoude char b
7. Consoude char c
8. Consoude char d
rule is duel one or two positions over you max
so,
7. Consoude char c
8. Consoude char d
cannot duel Consoude b or a ofc
so they duel first opponent = 4. Hamm
