A mate is upgrading from his 1080ti so i was gonna throw it in my computer if its worth it (i still have to pay him $500)

so basically i want to know if the chipset will fit my motherboard and if there will be any bottlenecks, let me know if i have to find and post any more spec's to make it clearer.

Assuming the vid card will fit in the case.... you won't have any problem with the 1080Ti on the motherboard.


The CPU will be the bottle neck. But the 1080ti is definitely worth $500, even used. You can always upgrade the CPU, motherboard, RAM, etc., later.

If you can hold out, Nvidia will be releasing their ampiere series this year and for 500$ you will probably be able to get a beastly rtx 3000 card

He is the kind of mate that would ask for fuel money if you're going to the same place, I did look around the internet and couldn't find anything cheaper even refurbished.

Also I'm Australian so a dollar here is almost 2 there
