i found a pretty cool +2 zon lance with 40ias... was wondering if there are any tested builds for a jab or impale zon
pretty sure fend is fucked unless they fixed it in the last few years?

i was thinking something like
20 jab
20 valk
20 decoy
20 penetrate
crit strike/dodge/avoid/evade

gear up kinda tanky and poke the shit out of stuff...

or should i ditch the valk and do something like
20 jab
20 inner sight
20 crit strike
20 penetrate
slow missile/dodge/avoid/evade

paging dr. ^vonhizzle for advice on zon builds

I did a single player char and found that I preferred using decoy over valk, but I didn't pump valk as hard as you are proposing. The valk you propose would probably tank everything. My problem was the valk would die constantly and decoy became more useful.

The other thing I found was that massive life steel is very helpful. I stacked deaths and sigons and other life steels

Impale looks good in theory but I hated it when trying to use. Fend is pretty situational and I didnt really like it very much, I ended up using jab primarily, but kept it level 1 and had fend level 20.

I like your valk proposition build though

either one of those builds could be fun...

i would value critical strike and the other passives over maxing out decoy/penetrate

i started looking at zon spear skills after i found the zon lance i'm sure nobody else would want/use...
i think i tried a fend zon once and it sucked massively because of whatever fend bug
impale seemed like a good option but it's interruptible so probably would suck too like fend
but i noticed that JAB is an uninterruptible attack, says it attacks multiple times in the time span of one attack, and no synergies so only 20 to max it

i'm wondering if jab is even viable in hell with decent equip, or if it would be better to go for a lightning skill build

if i make this, i assume valk/decoy would be a huge benefit for solo adventures, but IF i build this, i probably only play in group cs runs.
so maybe inner sight and slow missiles would be more useful skills for a team situation

ty for valuable input. i might just need to start out with 20 to jab and fill in the rest as i go as needed.
if i ever get around to making this i will post how it does, maybe make a guide for this obscure af build since apparently nobody has made one after 20 years

in 8 player game with your setup [chant/amp/conc] .. yes

in 1 player game without your multichar setup, still yes


lightning skills also work but we're talkin JABzon with this lance.

valk/decoy are still important, especially if playing solo - just saying none of the valk skills or passives need to be maxed

you can kinda measure it yourself as you're adding points to see where you get the most value


inner sight/sm could be interesting for team play.. not sure you'd be able to get all you want outta valk/passives if you go this route tho

i think you'd basically have to decide if your zon is gona be able to go into infector pack confidently and do some damage or if it is just gona run around and debuff / maybe get a few pokes on seal bosses/D

i just want to be able to do maximum poke pokes but also stay alive
i assume a valk heavy build would be more survivable, but would max inner sight to reduce monster defense for the benefit of the whole party be worth it? think max is like -815 to defense and arreats says hell act4 monsters have like 1.8-2k def

so a build with max inner sight, +2 lance, +2 ammy, tarn, silks, and sojs would be reducing hell cs monsters defenses by like 75% and probably eliminate the need for points in penetrate to actually get hits

-815 is a lot and would quicken clear times depending how much physical damage you're puttin' out

might wanna consider no valk build. jab + heavy passives + inner sight
in your 8 player runs valk is pretty much irrelevant
