Dell Inspiron 5552

I stopped it during an update since it was stuck and now it won't boot past the dell screen and it just keeps rebooting.
I took the HD out and plugged it upto my pc and its recognized and has the OS files on there.
Not sure what to do to fix this.

Every now and then I can hit f2 or f12.
Neither option seem to fix it.

Do you have any data on the laptop you need or care about?

If not, Make Windows 10 USB install media using your PC, pop it in and F12. Boot from USB.

It's just faster.

Theres nothing on the HD that I want.

I don't have the install disc that came with the laptop.
I have a legit copy of windows 10 USB, but its registered to my PC. Also, it won't recognize the windows 10 USB in the bios.

Should I format the HD on my pc then try?

Yes. Just plug your laptops HD into your PC and use disk management to format it. Put it back in your laptop and install.

enable legacy usb and take it out from uefi mode.
buy a key off ebay for 3$
do a fresh install with hdd in laptop.

no need to format it from your pc when your booting off the usb.

I agree with the first part.

I'd wait on buying a key unless you need it. Usually keys are registered to the Microsoft account or embedded in the mobo.

Sorry, I'm bad at typing out what I'm trying to say.

Both copies have a legit key. I just have the pc USB stick, which I imagine can only be registered to one pc.

I don't have any installation discs that came with the laptop.
