My build is:

shako
coh
eschuta
spirit monarch
spider
magefist
fcr ring
nagel
travs

torch
anni
gheed


andy
infinity
ebug fort


so the guide says to add um to the shako and use a hoto. However, i see that in game, in hell, i reach max resist for each type of element, except for fire, which needs
20% more to reach the max 75%. If this is the case, then why should i use hoto and add um to the shako?

I don't know what guide you are referencing, but coh is not a great armor so you should be using enigma or vipermagi.

Depends on a few things.

What is your budget?
Are you hardcore or softcore?
What areas do you plan to mf?

I used up the fg I was given to build my current setup as I listed, so I think I’m in trouble.
I’m softcore. I plan to mf in the best places if possible

Nah you are fine, your gear is pretty solid and you have 117fcr/~180mf. Skillswise since you might as well go full lightning since that will give you the most flexibility.

Why soj over bk ring? What should I have in my inventory? Should I add mfscs?

Without insight you will have some Mana constraints until you reach about 800-1000 mana. Soj helps with mana more than bk benefits with life.

Your inventory is up to you. Your res will be pretty close to max with the above build (based on the quality of your Hoto/Mara/torch/Anni), so you should prob only need a few res charms. After that I like a few skillers and vita/Mana charms, but you could totally load up on mf charms if you prefer :)

I plan to use eth infinity/andy/ebug fort on my merc. Is that great?
