Description: Gaming

More specific use (what games, what programs): All types of AAA games and some indy stuff.

Planned time until purchase: ASAP - Computer is dying on me

Do you need an Operating System?: Yes

Do you have any specific preferred components?: Not really, would like to go for an i9 or R9

Do you need a sound or wireless card?: Need sound, not wireless

Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: Not sure, never overclocked before but I would prefer liquid cooling - fans have let me down

Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: Don't include those in cost - I will purchase monitors based off the specs of my PC, and I have a good mouse/keyboard

Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): Ontario, Canada

Additional information that may help us assist you:

What are your preferences in case style? (lights, flashy, dull, etc) Don't really care

Are you planning to use multiple monitors? Yes, two

Are you looking for upgrade-ability? Not rly, usually just redo whole PC every 4-6 yrs

Do you have any preferred brands? No

Can you reuse any components from an older build? No

Is there anything else you think we should know?

To be honest, you don't need a Ryzen 9 unless you're getting into video editing, modeling, etc. There's very few, if any games out there that will be bottlenecked by a 16 thread processor at 4k gaming.
I went with 4k monitor selection because with triple A titles, people generally prefer the graphical fidelity. You could also drop to a 1440p 144hz and be just fine as well if you wanted, personal preference really.

Price to performance really.
Intel is in fact ahead but not by a whole lot.

I would switch to this gpu cause I mean you have it in ur budget...

Ryzen is cheaper for basically the same thing.
I'd also up the PSU to plat instead of gold

Overkill below like 1k watt IMO. It's like a 2% efficiency increase at best, and below high utilization probably even less. Not worth the extra coin IMO.

Yeah I just had a parametric set to above factory clock.

And yeah Intel is slightly better but not enough to justify an extra couple hundred.
