I figure more dex but i like the style more is it more dmg then st?

All Shields average 46 smite damage so it comes down to Block % as you called out, gfx preference etc. It has more raw defense than an ST, but all around an ST is hard to beat.

Don't forget differences in str req (non eth st 86 vs kurast 124) and base block (60% vs 55%).
