That could be a great question in four or five years. At minimum I'd need to see a few more years.

Maybe Deshaun Watson will join the conversation if he plays for a better head coach and GM!
Mahomes has Andy Reid and Lamar has John Harbaugh. Super Bowl winning head coaches.

I loved when the Chiefs beat us 51-31 (choked a 24-0 lead) and after the game Mahomes told Deshaun, "we're going to do this many more times!" If only we didn't trade away our best receiver for a quarter on the dollar I'd probably believe it.

In the mean time there's no denying Patrick Mahomes as the greatest player in the NFL right now. A young superstar in all of sports!

If the talent on the team and the quality of coaching were equal, honestly, I'd slightly favor Deshaun because his winning DNA.
What he did at Clemson was remarkable! Going 11-5 and 10-6 in the NFL, winning a playoff game, with a God awful offensive line.

No denying two superstars and MVPs like Mahomes and Jackson, but they weren't sacked 62 times and 44 times the past two seasons. Hit 200+ times.

TL:DR - Patrick Mahomes may be the GOAT one day surpassing Tom Brady. Lamar Jackson is awesome! Yes, I threw Deshaun in the conversation!

I would take Mahomes purely because Jackson is going to get wrecked and be another RG3 before it's all said and done.

Yeah the longevity argument is probably the tie breaker.

I'd argue that right now today Lamar is probably the better asset.

I don't want to go off topic but who would you take between Matthew Stafford and Andy Dalton? I like both crafty veterans. Both are 32 years old. I also chose Patrick Mahomes (Super Bowl champion and MVP) but call me a homer. He's native Texan born in Tyler and he went to Whitehouse High School and Texas Tech. Long term wise I'm not throwing in the towel for guys like Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson. Both have special skills and ability. I thought the Titans defense was outstanding against Lamar in that playoff game. I still don't know how they made him look human.

Well I thought it was who I would rather have long term. Both are excellent at what they do for their team. My main fear would be with injuries. Granted mahomes went down this season, but he generally doesn't put himself in the positions Jackson does.

I would take Stafford out of bias mainly. Neither one if I had a choice to pick someone else. Stafford has been a pretty tough QB after he got killed as a rookie. This whole broken back issue makes me want to move on from him.
