this was it thanks... they were like traveling across a whole planet gathering magic cards for the spell book....bunch of different "teams"competeing to capture them...one team was capturing all the powerful fireball type spells....rest of the teams thought it was unfair and ganged up on the powerful "badguyteam"
none of the ones mentioned so far are it
