I've always been told that you should put ram in slots 1 and 3, While building a new Rig with a friend he assured me that because of the Mobo and CPU I have that they should be next to each other in 1 and 2
I tried looking it up but couldnt quite understand what it was saying in the manual.

X570 boards have daisy chained DIM slots.
Running them in 1 and 2 will result in loss of performance.

Running them in 1 and 3 will better utilize the sticks.

Page 22 of manual.

"We suggest that you install the memory modules on DDR4_A2 and DDR4_B2 first
for better DRAM compatibility on 2 DIMMs configuration"

So slot 2 and 4, slot one being closest to cpu.

Always check the mobo manual. As Artrhr displayed, it will tell you where to put them.

You might be correct, but stability might negate the possible performance gain, so it's recommended to use slots farther from the CPU for multiple reasons regarding stability, such as emissions from other components and etc.

I prefer stability gained from utilizing the farther slots, as you said.
