So this would allow you to keep your colour schemes different between devices.
Since people usually opt for power saving modes on mobile devices the darker themes will help conserve battery life for those devices.
Then when your at home/office it can be displayed in the preferred colour scheme of your system.
I mean there's probably more reason this is just one example of it being useful.

The basic idea, ignore the shitty paint work...
